Where tomorrow arrives today
In order to keep up with a world that expects everything to be delivered instantaneously, the marine transportation industry must evolve equally as fast. No company is more prepared to keep up with that pace than Port Liberty Bayonne, operated by the CMA CGM Group, a global player in sea, land, air and logistics solutions.
Strategically located outside the Bayonne Bridge, Port Liberty Bayonne is the closest container terminal to the New York and New Jersey harbor entrance, reducing transit time by two hours each way. Unrestricted by air and water draft, it is the only terminal in the harbor able to service the large vessels transiting the Suez and Panama canals.
This prime location, combined with world-class technology, make Port Liberty Bayonne the gateway of choice for cargo moving between New York and New Jersey and the rest of the world.

Port Liberty Bayonne features state-of-the-art technology and equipment designed to increase safety, improve reliability, and decrease processing times. Our goal is to ensure that your cargo is never delayed, and with the implementation of our new RMGs, we can guarantee the highest productivity in the harbor. This translates into both time and money savings for your business.
Port Liberty Bayonne’s 2,700 foot (823 meter) berth and 50 foot (15.2 meter) draft is supported by eight post-Panamax ship-to-shore cranes, 20 semi-automated RMGs, and 17 manned RTGs.
The landside RMG container stacks are uniquely positioned on an angle to facilitate easier approaches and departures for truckers. While the RMGs are semi-automated, all transactions are guided and monitored remotely by ILA-skilled operators.
Getting in and out of Port Liberty Bayonne is fast, easy, and above all, safe. Each gate is outfitted with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software, RFID, and remote image inspections. The result: a more efficient process for truckers and a safer work environment for everyone.
All exit and entrance roads to the terminal are designed to keep the traffic flowing. Dedicated transfer zones, pre-positioned cargo, and the elimination of cross-traffic intersections are just a few of the features that help keep operations running smoothly.
The terminal has direct access to the New Jersey Turnpike and is minutes away from the bridges that connect to New York, Long Island, and the Northeast.
With the new Port Liberty Bayonne ExpressRail Port Jersey in operation, Port Liberty Bayonne combines high-capacity on-dock rail service with streamlined terminal operations to provide fast, seamless connections to inland destinations across North America.
